DOING 45,000 Tons/Year Waste Plastic Pyrolysis Project in Vietnam Successfully Commissioned

In September 2024, the semi-continuous pyrolysis plant project with an annual processing capacity of 45,000 tons of waste plastic for DOING's Vietnamese customer was successfully completed and officially put into operation.

This Vietnamese client, originally focused on waste plastic recycling and crushing, turned its attention to waste plastic pyrolysis projects mainly based on the following two considerations:

Abundant raw material resources and high-value-added products: The client has sufficient waste plastic raw materials, which can be directly processed into plastic oil through pyrolysis. As a high-calorific value fuel oil, plastic oil has a wide market demand and a considerable selling price in the local market, which can significantly improve the client's profitability.

Policy-driven and win-win benefits: The local government strongly supports waste plastic processing projects, and the client can enjoy corresponding government subsidies, thus achieving both economic benefits and environmental protection.

Considering that the client's raw materials are crushed plastic particles, which are more suitable for the semi-continuous process, DOING provided them with 10 sets of semi-continuous waste plastic pyrolysis plants with a daily processing capacity of 15 tons. Compared with batch-type pyrolysis plants, the semi-continuous process does not require waiting for the reactor to cool down before discharging carbon black, resulting in higher production efficiency and better meeting the actual operational needs of the Vietnamese client.

Differences between batch and semi-continuous pyrolysis plant

Details of the 15 tons/day semi-continuous waste plastic pyrolysis plant configuration:

The semi-continuous waste plastic pyrolysis plant mainly consists of a screw feeder, pyrolysis reactor, shell-and-tube condenser (including horizontal condenser, vertical condenser, and condensing tower), water seal tank, buffer tank, oil-water separator, high-temperature ball valve, water spray dust collector, deodorization device, and vacuum negative pressure device. Two unique design features of the equipment successfully impressed the Vietnamese client, leading to this collaboration:

Semi-continuous process: This process utilizes a sealed screw feeder for material input and a high-temperature ball valve and slag discharge screw conveyor for high-temperature slag removal. This design eliminates the need to open the furnace door or wait for the pyrolysis furnace to cool down before slag removal, significantly improving production efficiency and ensuring a clean and environmentally friendly production site, which is significantly superior to batch-type pyrolysis plants.

High-efficiency tubular condenser system: To ensure optimal cooling of the oil and gas produced during pyrolysis and maximize oil yield, DOING Company equipped the client with a tubular condenser. Compared to traditional water tank condensers, the tubular condenser has the advantage of being easier to transport over long distances internationally.

On March 18, 2024, the Vietnamese client visited DOING Company's factory. Through an in-depth understanding of the factory's overall production workshop and equipment, the client further strengthened their confidence in DOING Company and ultimately successfully ordered 10 sets of 15-ton/day semi-continuous waste plastic pyrolysis plants.

Due to the tight schedule, the DOING factory adopted a phased production and delivery model. Therefore, the 10 sets of semi-continuous waste plastic pyrolysis plants ordered by the Vietnamese client were shipped in three batches on June 4th, July 12th, and August 8th, 2024, completing the loading and shipment of all equipment and auxiliary parts.

After all the equipment was delivered, DOING Company immediately dispatched an overseas engineering team to Vietnam to provide on-site installation guidance, commissioning, and personnel training services for the client. Currently, the overseas engineering team has sent back real-time progress reports, showing that the Vietnamese client's pyrolysis project, with an annual processing capacity of 45,000 tons of waste plastic, has been successfully put into production and operation.
