Raw Material

Oil sludge pyrolysis equipment (also called thermal decomposition unit TDU plant) can process waste materials such as spilled oil sludge, tank bottom oil sludge, oil refinery oil sludge, engine oil sludge, steel plant oil sludge, oil spills, and industrial sludge. The main characteristics of oil sludge are high water content, high oil content, large volume, high content of harmful components, and viscous, difficult-to-process properties. Therefore, it requires sophisticated pyrolysis technology and equipment configuration.

Working Process

The fully continuous oil sludge pyrolysis plant utilizes high-temperature anaerobic pyrolysis technology to convert the organic matter in the sludge into light oil and gas, liquid oil, and solid carbon black, achieving resource utilization. The process flow is designed for continuous production, supporting 24-hour uninterrupted operation, and mainly includes pretreatment, pyrolysis, oil-gas separation, tail gas treatment, and residue treatment.

Pretreatment System

Oily sludge is first crushed or dehydrated (depending on the feedstock's state) by a crusher to facilitate heat transfer; it then enters the feeding system to ensure material uniformity, creating conditions for subsequent pyrolysis.

Pyrolysis Reaction System
The pretreated sludge continuously enters the rotary pyrolysis reactors, where a pyrolysis reaction occurs in a high-temperature, anaerobic environment of 200-600℃, decomposing heavy hydrocarbons into light oil and gas. The reactor is equipped with a propeller and anti-sticking wall design to ensure uniform heating and complete pyrolysis of the material.

Oil-Gas Separation System
The generated oil-gas mixture first passes through a buffer tank to slow its flow rate and allow carbon black to settle. It then sequentially enters a condensation catalytic chamber and a multi-stage condenser, where circulating water cooling condenses the oil-gas mixture into liquid oil. The condensed gas is then purified and can be reused or discharged.

Exhuast Gas Treatment System
The exhaust gas generated during oil sludge pyrolysis process contains harmful substances such as sulfides and nitrogen oxides. It must be treated by equipment such as desulfurization and dust removal towers and pulse dust collectors to ensure emissions meet standards.

Residue Treatment System

Solid residue from pyrolysis is continuously discharged via the slag discharge auger. During the process, water cooling is used to lower the carbon black to room temperature, facilitating safe transportation or resource utilization.

01 Rotated pyrolysis reactor
The new type continuous oil sludge pyrolysis plant adapts rotated reactor, which could be heated evenly in 360°. This way it would not heat only one part of the reactor for long time, thus to make the reactor more durable.
02 Rollover device
Inside the pyrolysis reactor, there is the rollover device. The input materials would be turned over 4000 times from feeding to slagging. And the materials inside the reactor are forced to be turned over continuously and highly dispersed, which could get evenly heating , thus greatly increase the pyrolysis speed.
03 Adapt rotation outside and inner diverter heating method
The raw materials is pyrolyzed against the wall of reactor by directly touching the heat transferred reactor surface of the continuous oil sludge pyrolysis plant. To receive heat fast to make sure that the heat exchange is fast.
04 Multiple capacity to choose
The processing capacity of pyrolysis equipment can be increased or decreased according to our clients’ production demand, thus we can adjust the industrial production scale. 05 Environmental friendliness and safety
Adopts a continuous feeding and closed slag discharge design, effectively preventing the leakage of harmful substances. After treatment, the oil content in the solid phase can be below 0.3%, and the gaseous and liquid products meet emission standards after treatment. The equipment operates in a slightly negative pressure environment and employs an optimized sealing structure, reducing operational risks and improving safety.
